EthiopiaEvents ("we", "us") operates the website ethiopiaevents.com and its mobile applications (the "Service"). This page tells you what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep things short, plain, and honest.

1. What we collect

• Account info: your email, name, and (if you sign in with Google) profile picture.
• Event activity: events you create, RSVP to, or buy tickets for. Comments and reviews you post.
• Payment info: handled entirely by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). We never see or store full card numbers.
• Payout info: if you request a host payout, we store the bank/Telebirr/CBE Birr details you provide so we can pay you.
• Device & log info: standard server logs (IP, user agent, time) for security and debugging.
• Push token: if you grant push notification permission, we store the browser-issued token to send you updates.

2. How we use it

• To deliver tickets, confirm RSVPs, and send transactional emails (via Resend).
• To show hosts who is attending their events.
• To compute and process payouts.
• To improve discovery (search, recommendations, the Tikus Buna hot-list).
• To prevent fraud and abuse.

3. What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data — full stop.
• We do not share your data with advertisers.
• We do not read your ticket purchase history to target ads at you.

4. Who we share with

Only the minimum needed to run the service:

• Stripe — for payment processing.
• Resend — for sending transactional and host-broadcast emails.
• Google — only if you choose "Sign in with Google" (Emergent-managed OAuth flow).
• Hosts see your name and email when you RSVP/buy a ticket for their event — that's how they know who's coming.

5. Your choices

• Update or delete your account anytime by emailing salam@ethiopiaevents.com. We respond within 7 days.
• Revoke push notification permission in your browser/OS settings at any time.
• Unsubscribe from host newsletters using the link at the bottom of those emails.

6. Data retention

We keep account data while your account is active. After account deletion we anonymize ticket records to preserve host payout history but remove personally-identifying fields.

7. Children

EthiopiaEvents is not intended for children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please email us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

We'll update this page if anything material changes and notify active users by email. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the new policy.
